Hachioji is called “Kuwadu” (meaning “mulberry city” in Japanese) because sericulture and textiles flourished there, and it developed as the largest lodging town on the Koshu Road. The Hachioji Kuwato-Senkei (Thousand Views of Hachioji Kuwato-Town) is a project to inherit the various sceneries and cultures of the attractive “Kuwato-Town”. In addition to decorating store fronts along Koshu Kaido with goodwill decorations and lighting up the streets of the Hanamachi flower district, there will be a goodwill market, a nighttime opening event featuring Hachioji's traditional performing arts, and other events to experience Edo culture with plenty of highlights. ~Scenery with an Edo-style atmosphere~.
In addition to decorating the store fronts of approximately 80 stores along Koshu Kaido, including long-established stores, and lighting up the flower street with andtons, the event will recreate the atmosphere of the Edo period.

～Opening Event (Creative Shinnai Joruri Theater)
In addition to Hachioji geiko, Hachioji kuruma dolls, and musical accompaniment, a creative shinnai joruri play will be performed using woodwinders to present a new approach to the appeal of Hachioji's traditional performing arts.
