There are around 70,000 artifacts excavated from the site. The artifacts provide an insight into the way of life during the Sengoku period (Warring States period; 1467–1568) and the nature of the battles that took place at the castle. The fact that many imported goods were excavated, including Venetian lace glassware which could not be found elsewhere in Japan, is proof that Hojo Ujiteru was a powerful warlord at the time. The artifacts are on display at the local history museum.
