Many documents from medieval times have been preserved at Yakuoin Temple. The documents issued by Hojo Ujiteru include edicts forbidding the cutting of bamboo, trees, and undergrowth on the mountain and prohibiting the forcible lowering of prices through violence in the temple grounds, as well as letters of dedication for the temple’s property, showing that Ujiteru took great care to protect Mt. Takao.
These have been entrusted to the local history museum.
