Yakuoin Temple retains traces of the blending of Shintoism and Buddhism. Izuna Daigongen is the deity housed in the main shrine and main hall of the temple. Izuna Daigongen was deeply revered not only by the Hojo family, but also by warlords such as Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin.
