"What is Hachioji?" Hachioji has long been called "Mulberry City."
University students studying textile design at Tokyo University of the Arts, Musashino Art University, and Tama Art University walk, learn, and experience Hachioji, and express the Mulberry City Story through the many landscapes they encounter.
SOTO monogatari Cycling
Introducing a cycling route for the Mulberry City Story, designed by Charlie Isozaki, a representative wrought-iron artist from Hachioji.
The cycling route will be introduced using not only maps but also images and videos.
Silk Road Story
The Silk Road, which is indispensable to the Mulberry City Story. We will convey its charm by expanding both the timeline and geographic axis.
Walking event videos that allow for historical exploration and VR content of the Yari-mizu Suwa Shrine hall are examples. These will connect the footsteps of many people to the future.
SOTO local education
Asakawa Elementary School is located near Mt. Takao. All sixth-grade students formed groups based on Japanese heritage themes, interviewing and photographing relevant individuals to create posters. Each poster is truly inspiring. Please take a look at the future as envisioned by these young students.

The 6th graders of Hachioji Sanda Elementary School have been continuously experiencing and presenting the traditional Hachioji art of kuruma ningyo (Hachioji cart puppetry) during their comprehensive learning time. This year, under the theme "Kuruma Ningyo × The Story of Mulberry City," the students conducted research on areas of interest from four stories related to The Story of Mulberry City.
