Learn about Japan Heritage at Hachihaku Soto Japan Heritage Center Hachioji Museum (Hachihaku)

This facility showcases the Japan Heritage “Story of Mulberry City” while exploring the history and culture of Hachioji.
It highlights the textile industry that shaped the town’s development, along with traditional techniques and performing arts such as Hachioji Textiles and Hachioji Kuruma Ningyo (cart puppetry), which have been passed down to the present day.

Walk for 5 minutes to JR Hachioji Station
Take the bus for 20 minutes then walk for 1 minute
Depart from bus stop no. 6 or 7 bus at the North Exit of JR Hachioji Station, and get off at Nishi-Nakano 2-chome (Note: The bus for Kogakuin University departing from bus stop no. 6 does not stop here)

Dyeing experience at Noguchi Dyeing Shop (afternoon course from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.)

Established in 1840, the Noguchi Dyeing Factory is a historic shop specializing in dyeing.
It offers indigo dyeing workshops: a one-hour course for dyeing handkerchiefs, bandanas, and hand towels, and a two-hour course for dyeing garments like T-shirts and scarves.
Items made from non-natural materials can also be dyed.
Wear clothes and shoes that are easy to move in and okay to get dirty.
